Deanna Baringer writes and teaches in Pittsburgh, PA. Her work has recently appeared in Santa Clara Review, Emerge Literary Journal, and Lily Poetry Review.
About her work, Deanna says:
‘This piece started out as a meditation on place and became, in its finished form, a metaphor for what happened there. Germination is part of a cycle of change, requiring dormancy/darkness before action/light, and that cycle guides the progression in this poem.’
