Peter Mullineaux is from Bristol and now lives in Galway, Ireland. His most recent collection We are the Walrus (Salmon Poetry 2022) featured on the cover of World Wildlife Fund's The Circle Magazine. His environmental poetry film 'Careful what you wish for orangutan' won the 2023 Home-stage Competition (UK). 

Of the work featured here, Peter says:

'Burial is probably one of the oldest social rituals practised by human beings – I wanted to comment on human mortality, but also link it to a dying, or at least mortally wounded environment – coming at it slantways from a 'deadpan' (sic!) comic angle. We often say "we don't know whether to laugh or cry" – I suppose here I'm trying to do both.'
