Will Allingham is a writer based in Cornwall who writes a lot about surfing and travel. Recently, Will began an online publication called ‘The Sideways Journal’, a collection of art and handwritten works about roads less travelled, strange adventures and curious personalities.
Of the work featured here, Will says:
'My family and I go on holiday to a little village on the Suffolk coast every summer. It’s where my siblings and I had our first taste of freedom, cycling around without supervision, beach bonfires, cricket on the green. The village is also considered to be a thin place. Over the years, our friends and I have had a number of supernatural experiences there. This essay explores that link between freedom and the supernatural…”The sea breaches land, the drift knows no bounds and spirits wonder free."
