Simon David is a poet and actor who regularly stages theatrical productions at the Muse Gallery in Portobello in London. First collection of poetry " a rainbow of only one hue" was published by Greenwich Exchange in 2016. Works with editor and fellow writer/actor Vanessa K-G as a collective called Blue Ink performing poetry enhanced by acting, music and dance.
Of the spoken word piece featured here, Simon states:
'Sexual freedom at least in this part of the world is a liberty experienced by many if not most to whatever degree personal or social circumstances or one's own inclinations permit. Promiscuity can be part of a process of exploring and expressing who one is sexually and generally in fact as can opting for a more longer termed relationship dynamic. Freedom of a sexual nature can be complicated as it often is, as so many factors can determine how free one actually is or isn't depending on…
One Night Stanza started as a title inspired by a lyrical love of language and wondrous word play. Each stanza poetizes the conflict between promiscuity and wanting more than just sex for sex's sake. The ongoing drama between lust and love is evident as each scenario depicts a specific take on one night stands limited longevity. Repetition of the line "I came on her heart" adds a circular continuity to the endless fling element involved between individuals only together for...'
